"Bad Romance: Women's Suffrage"

I've recently found this parody of Lady Gaga's song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYQhRCs9IHM&index=11&list=PLG5zDaeQC8ydEZZ0xXL6u2ScgjxW0CfeT

The message in this song is concise and very strong. "We don't want to take freedom from you. Just our rights and nothing less."

Another video is regarding a Lebanese journalist who had shut down a Muslim scholar for saying that it was beneath him to be interviewed by a woman:

How sad that it's already 2015, but still there are women who are fighting for their rights. For OUR rights. Well, I can say this: the fight doesn't end until we get to where we aim to. To when the world sees both men and women as equal human beings. To when girls go where they want to not because their it's their partner's choice, but because it's their own's.

With this being said, women, keep fighting on.

Mar 8th - International Women's Day

Happy International Women's day!

Awareness are being raised. Voices are being heard. But still, there are discrimination and violence against women and girls around the world.

Today women any and everywhere shall join together to fight for our rights. For our equality. For our freedom.

I have seen brilliant campaigns advocating for women's rights and equality. Down here, I will list a few of them:

1. The Bruised Woman on This Billboard Heals Faster as More Passersby Look at Her: http://www.adweek.com/adfreak/bruised-woman-billboard-heals-faster-more-passersby-look-her-163297

2. Salma Hayek: ‘I am a feminist because a lot of amazing women have made me who I am today’: http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/mar/04/salma-hayek-feminist-women-the-prophet-interview?CMP=fb_gu

3. 50 Women who made it happen: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02kcmtn?ocid=socialflow_facebook&page=3

These are great stories I have stumbled upon on Facebook. Take time to read through these articles; it gives really a deep insight on the whole women's right issues. It shows different aspects of women who had struggled in the fight for equality throughout their careers or lives in general.

I apologize for any grammatical or spelling errors. I am not the best writer; I've decided to write this blog simply out of passion for gender equality and my curiosity in women studies. Through this, I hope to have my voice heard as an advocacy for equal rights for every gender.
